Yes! DEVILS AND DETAILS, book #2 of the Ordinary Magic series is out in ebook form today! Here are the buy links: Amazon, Barnes & Noble, iTunes, Kobo. It will be available in print in just a few days. I'll post updates. In a book full of creatures and vacationing gods, I have to say I had a lot of fun writing all of them. One of my favorite characters to explore a little more deeply in this book is Odin, though I was surprised by new information we discover about Old Rossi, the prime vampire, and delighted about one of the sister's new hobbies. Of course, this book is full of secrets being revealed and the truth finally coming to light...or so it appears. 😉 Happy reading!!
If you read DEATH AND RELAXATION, book #1 of my Ordinary Magic series, you might have noticed that book #2, DEVILS AND DETAILS was supposed to be out in July. You might also notice that it is currently no longer July. It is also almost no longer August. Sigh... Getting book #2 out into the world came with a load of delays, set backs, Life Stuff, and a broken thumb. I have to say that despite all that, I'm really, really excited about this book. Today, on this almost-no-longer-August Monday, I can finally announce that DEVILS AND DETAILS will be available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, iTunes, (and other e-tailers) Wednesday, August 31! Yes, this Wednesday! The print version will be out Very Soon. Please hang in there just a little longer, my print readers. I'm pulling it together as quickly as I can. So to recap: things are finally on track. We have a book, a release date, a thumb that doesn't really bend correctly any more, and we have a cover! Wow, right? How gorgeous is that? The artist is Lou Harper of Harper Designs and I LOVE her work on this series. And lastly, for the cherry on top, here is an exclusive sneak peek. Thank you again for being so patient with me!
DEATH AND RELAXATION is out today! I am so excited to finally be able to share with you the first book in my newest series! This is the story about a regular small town cop, Delaney Reed, and her not-so-regular small town of Ordinary, Oregon where gods vacation, monsters reside, and even murder can't put a damper on the world-famous Rhubarb Rally. This is small-town urban fantasy and is a little lighter than some of my other books. But of course it comes with a healthy dollop of humor, mystery, and a dash of romance. Here's the back cover: Monsters, gods, and mayhem... Police Chief Delaney Reed can handle the Valkyries, werewolves, gill-men and other paranormal creatures who call the small beach town of Ordinary, Oregon their home. It’s the vacationing gods who keep her up at night. With the famous rhubarb festival right around the corner, small-town tensions, tempers, and godly tantrums are at an all-time high. The last thing Delaney needs is her ex-boyfriend reappearing just when she's finally caught the attention of Ryder Bailey, the one man she should never love. No, scratch that. The actual last thing she needs is a dead body washing ashore, especially since the dead body is a god. Catching a murderer, wrestling a god power, and re-scheduling the apocalypse? Just another day on the job in Ordinary. Falling in love with her childhood friend while trying to keep the secrets of her town secret? That’s gonna take some work. Amazon | Barnes & Noble | iTunes Happy reading!!! Oh, and please share the news, or leave a review if you feel so inclined. Thank you! 🙂
Back Lash, book #1 of the Shame and Terric series is officially available as an ebook! I've had a couple questions since the book came out and thought I'd answer them here. Will there be a print edition? - If Back Lash sells well enough, I plan to write a second, longer Shame and Terric novel and will release both it and Back Lash as ebook and print some time next year. Will there be an audio edition? - At this time: no. If that changes (again, depending on how well the ebook version sells) I'll be sure to let you know! Where is it available? - Currently it's up on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, and iTunes. Can I get it free? - Yes! Just request it through your local library. They should be able to get a digital copy in for loaning at no cost to you. And maybe my favorite question: That cover--is Shame stealing Terric's clothes? Yes. Yes he is. 😉 If you have any other questions, let me know and I'll do my best to answer them. You can find me here, or follow me on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr. Or if you'd just like a monthly update with sneak peeks and giveaways, then signing up for my no-spam once-a-month (ish) newsletter is the way to go.
And without further ado, here is the cover for BACK LASH: I received a few questions from my last blog post, and I thought I'd answer them here.
- BACK LASH comes out in all ebook formats on November 12, 2015. There are no pre-order links, but the novel should be live and ready to purchase on Thursday.
- I intend to write a follow up Shame & Terric novel, and combine them in a print version some time next year. So, yes, there will be a print version of BACK LASH, but not for awhile.
- Steampunk...okay, this isn't really a question about BACK LASH, but I get it often enough I thought I'd address it here too. 🙂 When will there be another book in the Age of Steam series? Right now...I'm not sure. If I can fit it into my schedule, I hope I can write the book in 2016. I currently have two other novels on my plate and the deadline for those is ticking down. I do love Cedar, Wil, Mae, Rose, and Hink, and of course those Madder brothers. I don't intend to abandon their stories. Please be patient with me. I promise as soon as I can get that book written and in your hands, I will do so. 🙂
