Magic To the Bone

Book 1 in Allie Beckstrom Series

Using magic means it uses you back, and every spell exacts a price from its user. But some people get out of it by Offloading the cost of magic onto an innocent. Then it’s Allison Beckstrom’s job to identify the spell-caster. Allie would rather live a hand-to-mouth existence than accept the family fortune—and the strings that come with it. But when she finds a boy dying from a magical Offload that has her father’s signature all over it, Allie is thrown back into his world of black magic. And the forces she calls on in her quest for the truth will make her capable of things that some will do anything to control…

Hey, I’d love to get an ebook version of Magic To The Bone. Except that ebook versions of this book are not available in Canada via Penguin/Roc, Amazon or Kobo. Why are we blacklisted?

    :(

Catharine–I’m looking into why the books aren’t available via Kindle (etc) in Canada. Sorry for the hassle. I don’t actually have any say over where the ebook is distributed. My publisher bought those rights when they bought the rights to publish the books in paper format, so it’s up to them to see that the book is available electronically.

But as soon as I find out why they aren’t available (or maybe when they will be available) I’ll let you know.

      All best,
      Devon

      Kevin,

I have good news! We recently sold UK rights which means the first two books will be available on Amazon UK in the near future. I don’t know exactly when, but as soon as I get any news, I’ll post it here.

      Thanks for asking!

    I live in Canada,
I entered an address in the USA (temporarily) on my Amazon account, downloaded the e-books that were not available in Canada, and then switched back to my Canadian address.
I do it all the time, it works like a charm.
Great book, by the way, Thanks.

I’m intrested in trying out your books but I’m worried it, like so many other books these days, is filled with romance and/or sex. Is this the case?
Btw I dont mind if there’s some romance (like in dresden files) but it should be just a sidestory.

Pyryp–The Allie Beckstrom books aren’t paranormal romance. They’re pretty firmly urban fantasy, which means there are relationships and some sexy scenes in the books, (like the Dresden Files) but romance isn’t the main focus of the books.

I’m also wandering about an audio-book version of this series as, It is the only way I listen/read books now. I lost the majority of my eyesight from an IED over in Iraq so reading for me is very difficult. Please let me know if you could when a audio-book version is going to become available.

I’m in the same situation as those above. In Australia there is no kindle version. I was hoping to try this series being a big Dresden fan and this looking like a similar style series but unless I can get an book it won’t happen :-(

I’m a huge fan of the urban fantasy genra, but i get kinda tired when the romance seems to take over the story. As a female author to another, I understand the draw of writing romance, but before I devote the next 2-3 days of my life tracking down a copy of this book and reading it, could you tell me if this is more of a romance or an adventure story?
