Devon, I love the book Magic on the Hunt, Thank you so much for signing it. I am totally amazed each time I read your books. I can’t wait to figure out what I think may happen in the next one. You have a surprise at every turn!!! I am currently sending a copy to my best friend in Medford, who I hope to hook into my Devon Monk series addiction, lol!!!
Maria–Oh! Thank you!! There are a lot of great books in the urban fantasy genre, and I’m so glad you’re enjoying Allie’s stories! (I can’t wait for the latest to be out either, lol!)
I havent been hooked one a fantasy series Diane Duanes Young Wizardy series. Its not often I read something so original and intriging as the Aliie Beckstrom series.
Blair–Thank you so much! What a compliment! I hope the next book doesn’t disappoint. I’m working on book 7 right now, and am excited for what’s yet to come.
ZOMG. Book 7! My sister-in-law may pass out from excitement (I almost did!)! Glad there’s to be more, I was wondering if 6 was going to be it. I love the series, and so don’t want it to end just yet. ^_^
I have to say I recently found your work, thanks to another author’s recommendation, and fell in love. I could not put the first book down and I am waiting on pins and needles for the next one from the library.
Devon, thank you so much for writing the Allie Beckstrom series. I love it! I devour the books in 1 or 2 days and then wait with baited breath for the next one! I am eagerly anticipating Magic on the Hunt!!!
So, I stopped by Barnes and Noble just before going to see a movie (Gnomeo and Juliet – very cute!) to pick up the next book in one of the handful of series I read. Since they were not there, I browsed casually for something else to kill time. Came across your Allie Beckstrom series and, without too much expectation, determined the first book and zipped off to the theater. I read a dozen pages before the movie started and thought “wow, this isn’t so bad!”
When I got back to my hotel room, realizing that the hotel doesn’t have the Cartoon Network, I grabbed your book and started to read again. I got hooked, and HARD! I only got 4 hours of sleep that night, thanks to you! And I finished the book the next night when I got home.
I went from thinking “eh… why not” to now downloading Kindle software so I can read the rest! You sucked me right in, Devon, and that’s no small feat! Well done!
Thanks for your imagination and talent!
-Myke
PS: On a side note, I think you should have your publisher give a Chronological Order of the series. I had to search for “First Published” dates on each book to find the first one!
I was doing my normal 10,000+ book search through my local Library for something to read and I came across your (Allie Beckstrom series) and Karen Marie Moning’s (Fever series) and I chose yours to read first because of the covers on the books. Yes that is how I choose my books from the Library. Kinda strange I know, but what can I say, I’ve read somereally awesome stuff that way and yours was the top of my list for this year. I cant wait til April to get the next book. Hope you keep putting out more books in the series.
PS
They say not to judge a book by its cover, well I do it everytime I get a book and it hasn’t let me down yet!!!! LOL
Definately read the Fever series by Karen Moning. It’s really good!! I got my friend into it and by the last book she was so enthralled she couldn’t put it down.
So glad you’re enjoying the series! There will be nine books in total for the Allie Beckstrom books. The next comes out in November, MAGIC ON THE LINE.
The cover artist for the Allie Beckstrom books is the amazing Larry Rostant. You can find some of his work here: http://www.rostant.com/portfolio.html
Oh I’ve been reading your Allie Beckstrom series for the last couple weeks, and I absolutely LOVE them! I’m on book four, and about squealed with joy upon finding out there’s two more (plus another on the way!)! Keep up the excellent work! Looking forward to the next three books and getting into your other series! Thank you!!!
love your Allie Beckstrom series! You put wonderful detail into your characters and make them loveable, and I love the banter between them. I’m olny on the fourth book, but it looks like you kept Stone. I’m so glad. Very cute idea with that character. I look forward to more Allie stories!
Thank you for creating the Allie Beckstrom series. I love the books. They are actually one of the first books I actually can read alone and won’t get bored of. (I am not that big of a reading fan because I have trouble reading) But I really love your books and I am starting to love reading.
I absolutely loved the Allie Beckstrom series. It is a totally original take on use of magic. And the characters have their own quirks which make them seem human and familiar. It is amusing how Allie runs on coffee. And I just finished reading your latest book and I cannot wait for more!
I know this is way to early to ask, do perhaps have a date that the next book is due to be released. I am so addicted, I have read all the books in 2 and a half days.
i fell in love with your writing when i read MAGIC AT THE GATE for the first time.i can’t wait for the next book MAGIC ON THE HUNT cos it haven’t come out Singapore
I reread the entire series start to finish with each new book. Then, a few days after I finish reading the latest release, the fear settles into my bones. How long will Allie and Zay continue to have adventures that Devon will document for us?
Aw…thank you. You know, this is a nine book series, but I could see Allie and Zay showing up in a few short stories after the series is done. I really love writing them too, and I’m not sure if I’ll ever be able to completely give them up.
This series is sooo addicting I couldn’t put it down!!! Definately one of my favorite thus far. Thank you for sharing your amazing world and characters with us =D
I love your work. There has not been a book i like sence castaway of the flying dutchman, way back in high school. Im really happy that your making another one. I felt that if it ended here i was goinng to go crazy!lol…becase of your work i have started writing my self. so far its all adult short stories. but hay got to start some where!
hey i have to ask you a few things ok?
1)when did you start writing?
2)how did you know this is what you wanted?
3)and one question EVERY one here wants to know! what is the next book called? and when can we get our hands on it?
hope you dont stop this seires with the next book! and keep up the work….i think you get better with the next book in the seires.
long live allie and zay! terric and shame! i love the soul to soul concept…lie well fight crazy magic users together!
hope you dont stop this seires with the next book! keep up the work….i think you get better with w.each new book in the seires.
long live allie and zay! terric and shame! i love the soul to soul concept…live long love longer
First off I would like to say thank you for being so awesome. I love your Allie Beckstrom series, From the first book I was hooked. Second I would like to debate with you on the you are not an artist comment, In my opinion writing is an art. Being able to paint a vivid picture with words that captures the attention of your audience and feeds their imagination to new and wonderful heights, the way you do is definitly a form of art. Thank you again, for being so amazing!
Just finished reading Magic on the Hunt. Loved it! It was absolutely fantastic. I never wanted it to end.
I really hope that there are more books in the series because I would be so sad if there weren’t. >:o
I LOVE THE ALLIE BECKSTROM SERIES!!!!!!!! I read them all within two weeks. I can’t wait for the next book to come out. When will you be releasing the next one? Thank you soooooo much for creating this series, I am completely hooked.
I read… *a lot*. I’ve read a lot of books by a great many authors. (all Fantasy btw, very few sci-fi, and NEVER an urban fantasy) I read the back of the first book and thought to myself, “Magic uses you back? Pain? Ack!” But I took a chance, honestly because I couldn’t find anything better, and now I think your brilliant! I had no idea magic could be so painfully fun, much less GOOD in an Urban setting.
You got me to read Kim Harrison, Jocelyn Drake, and Brian Lumley. You and Kim are on a level together! Great work!
P.S.- You should let Shame and Terric get *together*
I just have to say that I love Allies books. I read alot and enjoy many differet series, but this is one of my favorite series. I can’t wait for the next book to come out.
OMG i LOVE your books! i cant stop reading them, im gonna be sooo sad when i run out of them i easly get absorbed into the story line and have NO problem picturing whats going on. your one of my favorite writers and i recommend your books to ALL of my friends that read. please let me know when your next book comes out!
I need your next book that follows Magic on the Hunt. Sooo….. GIMME GIMME GIMME! Why do have to write something as addictive as Allie Beckstorm! They are just tooo good!
Hey Devon I LOVE Allie Beckstrom series… I can’t get enough of them, and beause of that I do not get enough sleep in the last week lol. Thankyou so much for writing a brilliant series.
I can not wait until the next lot come out.
I just found your books 2 weeks ago and just finished #6. You are fantastic! So happy to know you’re working on book 7. I don’t want the series to end any time soon. Your writing is so subtle that I think I’ve picked up on a dozen questions about Allie’s past and future that I’d like to know the answers to, so dream on and write on!
Thanks for all the enjoyment.
PS: Heading over to bn.com now to get some instant gratification by “Nook-ing” the first in your new series!
I just finished Magic on the Hunt and i love this whole series….Please tell me there will be more to the Allie Beckstrom Novels…I really want to know what happens next…
Yes, indeed! There will be nine books in the series for sure. It is my goal to answer all the questions by the time we get to the end of the ninth book.
Now I remember why I procrastinated reading the next in the series, I Can’t Put Them Down! I read the last three in a week and a half! You are truly amazing and am honored to have know you all these years. Great job, don’t drain yourself but please keep up the Awesomeness !!!!
Devon, I grabbed Magic to the Bone partly because of the title and partly because of the intriguing cover art. Either way, I grabbed all of the other Allie books simply becaues your writing style has me hooked like blood magic. Reading the last three in the series has made my time in Iraq much more tolerable and I’ll probably read them again before I’m home. Thanks a lot for making my life richer.
I’ve always loved books, especially with strong female characters, and Allie Beckstrom is definitely up there with my favorites. Ive been trying to get myself to sit down and work on writing but none of my ideas have taken me far enough yet. You’re amazing keep up the good work. Do you have any idea how many more books will be in the series if there are more? Im working on Magic in the Shadows right now and curious how much more I have to look forward too
Devon, I have to admit that I bought Magic to the Bone for one reason; my 14-year-old twin daughters are named Devon and Allie. I just couldn’t resist! That being said, I am thoroughly enjoying the book and looking forward to the rest of the series.
I read all the 6 books over the last 3 weeks. Here I am now ( with blurry eyes) looking for the next book on the net. Can’t say I am not disappointed that it is not published yet. But it shows how much I love the series. Can you write a little faster?
I totally can’t wait until Nov. 1st!!!! I really want to know what will happens with everyone. I also just want to thank you for this series. I have introduced the series to my coworkers and we added your books to our book club!
[...] night, so that’s pretty awesome. Talking of Devon, if you’re in the UK her fabulous Allie Beckstrom urban fantasy series is now available over here – Amazon is selling the Kindle edition of the [...]
I love this book series so much! It was a stumble upon book series and I’m absolutely addicted to them! You are so talented as a writer and I’m glad that you decided to share your stories with us all to read . I work in a book store and I recommend them to everyone I help!
I also have to compliment you on your ability to create emotions in your characters and have them transfer. Allie pissed me a good deal off on more than one occasion, I actually wanted to strangle her! Any author that can evoke a emotional reaction such as anger at a main character in a book is a bloody good one in my books!
Devon….
I finished the book thru out the night…. I’ve been waiting for this one…. Awesome writing, amazing story and the chemistry between Allie and Zayvion is really there… You can feel it while reading…It gets thru you. Counting the days for magic on the Line…
I love your books and have raced through them! I’m anxiously awaiting the next installment. But, I have a question… When I’m reading, I can usually picture the people I’m reading about. But, I just can’t get a mental pic of Zayvion. I don’t know why. If you had to pick someone who would be your ideal of Zayvion, who would it be? Thanks! And great writing!
You’ve got me hooked. I randomly found a copy of “Magic to the Bone” in the ship’s library (US Navy) and couldn’t put it down til it was finished. Definitely getting the rest of the series ASAP. That’s saying a lot coming from me. Avid reader and until your book I hadn’t found a single fantasy series I enjoyed so much since “Dragonlance Chronicles.” Thank you so much for using the amazing talent you possess. My reader’s spirit is reinvigorated.
I love your books. You are a brilliant woman. I hate finishing every new book because I have to wait for the next one yet I just can’t put them down. Thank you sooooo much for giving me a wonderful and mysterious world to escape to. I look forward to the next Allie beckstrom novel and all of your other work. Thanks again
[...] is book number 7 in the series so if you haven’t read the previous six click here to find out what you’re missing, trust me on this – jumping in this late in the game [...]
Just wanted to say I am very much enjoying this series and I’ve pushed it on all the folk in my reading circle.
And – not to sound contrary – I’m also glad to see you have a planned ending to the series. Too many of the urban fantasies have open-ended storylines, and the main character just gets more and more trouble in her life…and you can’t help to start to think the characters are never going to be able to have any kind of “good” life!
Hi Devon! My wife and kids and I are all Urban Fantasy addicts. When we find series that we like, we pass the books around the house and inevitably find ourselves waiting impatiently for our favorite authors (like yourself) to come out with the next one. Then, of course, it’s a matter of waiting for your turn! We’re all big fans of Allie. My wife got to Magic on the Line first. I just finished it today and it goes on to one of my sons tonight.
I’m always sad when an author says that there will only be ____ books in a series that I love because I hate to see it end, but I’m looking forward to The Age of Steam and whatever other characters and universes that you create for us. (However long we have to wait between books…lol) = ^ )
Ok, quick question for you Devon:
If you were able to cast a movie, who would you see playing Allie, Zay and Shame?
(Those are the three I’m most interested in, but I’d be happy to hear about any others you’d care to divulge…)
I am really enjoying this series, everything about it. I wonder why only 9 books. I do hope that you continue past 9 books, even if it is still in Allie’s world and not directly about her. It’s a great mix of everything and reminds me of the Dresden Files (Jim Butcher, which I also enjoy).
Please keep Allie and her world going.
I discovered the third book in the Allie Beckstrom series when I was nosing around my local used book store to find something to read in the paranormal genre a coupl of months ago. It is my favorite genre to get lost in. I went to the local library got the first two and I am totally addicted. I am reading the second book right now and the third and forth are in transit to my library as I write this. Woohoo!!! Thanks for writing this fantastic series. I am a bit sad as there is only going to be nine books total. I really think you shouldn’t give up the characters. Judging from the amount of comments on the web site, you have a mighty large legion of fans. Devon Monk as an author totally rocks out in my honest opinion.
Whew! What a relief! I am near the end of Magic on the Hunt, and had a terrible feeling that this was the end of the series. Imagine my relief when I checked your site and found out there’s a new installment in April, 2012! Just a few months away!
I just stated reading your books and I can’t put them down:D I really love your writing and I can’t wait to see what happens to Allie next in Magic without Mercy:D
I just recently happened upon the Allie Beckstrom series at my local library and polished off all 7 books in 5 days, which is impressive for me given that I am a SAHM with two young kids to care for. I am totally and utterly hooked and can not wait for the next book to come out this spring. I do however blame you and Allie for my current addiction to COFFEE (either due to reading about it endlessly or to staying up late reading these wonderful books)! Thank you for capturing my imagination.
I love your writing! Can’t wait for more books!
Thank you, Brenda! Hope you enjoy the next one!
Just finished Magic on the Hunt, Loved It… Will there be anymore to this series?
Devon, I love the book Magic on the Hunt, Thank you so much for signing it. I am totally amazed each time I read your books. I can’t wait to figure out what I think may happen in the next one. You have a surprise at every turn!!! I am currently sending a copy to my best friend in Medford, who I hope to hook into my Devon Monk series addiction, lol!!!
You are an awesome writer
Thank you for creating Allie Beckstrom
Can’t wait untill the next one
Danny–(aw, thanks!) And thank you so much for reading!!
I am totally addicted to your books, and finding out what happens next to Allie, Zay and the others. Thank you
Hee! My evil plan has worked! (kidding!!) So glad you’re enjoying the books! Thanks for reading, Sophie!!
I absolutely LOVE your Allie Beckstrom series….It was one of the first books that I read in the Urban Fantasy Genre….Can’t wait to

Maria–Oh! Thank you!! There are a lot of great books in the urban fantasy genre, and I’m so glad you’re enjoying Allie’s stories! (I can’t wait for the latest to be out either, lol!)

Oh good! I was wondering if the series would continue given that you’re starting a new one.
Best of both worlds!
I have to say I recently found your work, thanks to another author’s recommendation, and fell in love. I could not put the first book down and I am waiting on pins and needles for the next one from the library.
Thank you, Sadi! Sorry for my late reply. I hope you enjoy the next when your library gets it in!!!
Devon
Devon, thank you so much for writing the Allie Beckstrom series. I love it! I devour the books in 1 or 2 days and then wait with baited breath for the next one! I am eagerly anticipating Magic on the Hunt!!!
Missy,
You are so welcome!! I love writing about Allie and her crew, and hope you enjoyed Hunt too!

Hey Devon!

PS: On a side note, I think you should have your publisher give a Chronological Order of the series. I had to search for “First Published” dates on each book to find the first one!
Myke,
Wow! So glad you found and enjoyed them! I love it when I discover a series that way!! (sorry for the lack of sleep though, lol)
Thanks for this note, and I’ll bring it up the chronological order comment with my editor next time we talk.
All best,
Devon
Hi Devon,

Hi Joy,
So glad you’re enjoying the series! There will be nine books in total for the Allie Beckstrom books. The next comes out in November, MAGIC ON THE LINE.
The cover artist for the Allie Beckstrom books is the amazing Larry Rostant. You can find some of his work here: http://www.rostant.com/portfolio.html

So…any covers coming with Allie’s new hair do? I’d like to see the white stripes.
Why wouldn’t there be another book after “Magic on the Hunt”? Can’t imagine the story stopping with so many parts to the whole thing just hanging…..
Devon, thank you so much for sharing with us.
P.S. C.J. …I do the same thing with rereading the series when the next book comes out. I love finding things I’ve forgotten!
I’ve mentioned it. Not sure if we’ll see it or not. The artist has the final say (as well he should. I am SO not an artist, lol!)
Thanks for reading!
First off I would like to say thank you for being so awesome. I love your Allie Beckstrom series, From the first book I was hooked. Ooohhh…yes. There are a lot of hints sprinkled throughout the series and hopefully we’ll get all the answers by the end of book 9.
And you are so very welcome! Thank you for reading!!!
hi…. I love your book….. Really really enjoyed it and it keeps me awake at night..
Thanks…
Hi!
Thank you! I hope you caught up on your sleep!! Happy reading!!
Hi Devon…
I just finished Magic on the Hunt and i love this whole series….Please tell me there will be more to the Allie Beckstrom Novels…I really want to know what happens next…
Melissa,
Yes, indeed!
Magic on the Storm is keeping me awake at the moment. I love Allie and Zayvion, and am seriously rooting for things to work out between them =)
Devon,
I totally can’t wait until Nov. 1st!!!! I really want to know what will happens with everyone. I also just want to thank you for this series. I have introduced the series to my coworkers and we added your books to our book club!
Always,
Nichole
[...] night, so that’s pretty awesome. Talking of Devon, if you’re in the UK her fabulous Allie Beckstrom urban fantasy series is now available over here – Amazon is selling the Kindle edition of the [...]
I love this book series so much! It was a stumble upon book series and I’m absolutely addicted to them! You are so talented as a writer and I’m glad that you decided to share your stories with us all to read
I will definitely look for your other series…
Hi:
Thanks for putting a little magic in my life!
