In Which I Discover Mod Podge

The other day I went to the thrift store looking for a solution for my yarn storage.  I didn’t find anything for my yarn, but I did buy a pair of adorably tacky boots that may or may not be bloodstained. I bought them and am convinced I can find a way to take them from tacky to classy. At first, I was just going to dye them, but then someone (I’m looking at you, Lynn) on Facebook mentioned Mod Podge.

I’d heard of Mod Podge but hadn’t ever been interested in crafting with it.  I looked on line I discovered that yes, indeed, you could use the gluey stuff to give your old shoes new life.

One trip to the fabric store later, and I had my supplies.  I decided to try this new-to-me craft on a pair of old comfy shoes that were in dire need of a pick-me-up instead of tackling the larger boot project.

Behold, the old shoes! (Go ahead, laugh at my dumb white socks inside them. Why are the socks there? We were painting a room and I was barefoot and got paint on my feet. I was in a rush, stepped into these old reliable shoes and got paint all over the inside of the shoe. The paint won’t come off and it looks ugly. I am sparing you the ugly. You’re welcome.)

With some fabric, a few coats of Mod Podge, a razor blade and an adventurous heart, I have created SUPER SHOES!!
