Writing weather

So, it’s raining still again today.  May in Oregon is usually filled with sunshine, a few puffy clouds, and the occasional shower. But this May has been cool, gray skies, and generally a lot more like the soggy end of March.

I’ve lived most of my life in Oregon. In the last couple of years the weather has seemed a lot wetter, with darker skies, and cooler temperatures. It’s easy to feel gloomy about it, but after listening to a friend Tweeting from her basement as tornadoes touched down near her home yesterday, I decided I like the rain.  Even gloomy skies really aren’t all that bad.

Certainly nothing to complain about.

And besides, all that rain makes for some magnificent blooming and growing going on.  The hues of green bursting out all over in the last week or so is just boggling.  And beautiful.

I love Oregon.  Even if it is a little green and squishy sometimes.
