Dead Iron Advance Review copies

I have been told by my publicist that she is holding a very limited number of advance review copies of DEAD IRON, my steampunk novel that will be out July 5th, to send to reviewers who are interested in giving it an advanced read.

NOTE: When I say limited, I mean* limited*.  That means that not everyone who asks for one can get one.  But we’ll do our darndest to cover the bases.  So….

If you have a review site/column, and would like to read and review DEAD IRON please contact me at devonmonk aT gmail DoT coM

Remember, there will be typos in the ARC.  This is the unproofed version.  Usually there is no pretty cover, but I am thrilled to say the ARC’s of DEAD IRON have the gorgeous cover art by Cliff Neilson.

Thank you, and happy reading!

From the back cover:

In steam age America, men, monsters, machines, and magic battle to claim the same scrap of earth and sky. In this chaos, one man must fight to hold on to what is left of his humanity…

Although the devisers have civilized the east with their contraptions, civilization hasn’t tamed the frontier that bounty hunter Cedar Hunt rides. Cursed by lycanthropy and carrying the guilt of his brother’s death, he’s a hard man for hire. But when a trio of miners offers him the possibility that his brother may yet survive, Cedar isn’t going to haggle for payment. All he has to do for them is find the Holder: a powerful device created by mad devisers from the realm of the Strange.

The Holder is in the hands of Shard Lefel, a dandified railroad tycoon who’s come to Hallelujah, Oregon, promising a civilized tomorrow. But what Cedar cannot know is that Lefel is an ancient Strange banished to walk this land for centuries. Now nearing the end of his sentence, Lefel is desperately searching for a way to fend off his own mortality—and the Holder may be the key.

In a land shaped by magic, steam, and iron, where the only thing a man can count on is his guns, gears, and grit, Cedar will have to depend on all three if he’s going to save his brother and reclaim his soul once and for all….

My site is still in progress, but isn’t this great incentive to get my act together. Maybe by the time the next one is out. 🙂 Really looking forward to Dead Iron.

I’m a huge fan of all things steampunk, so I’m looking forward to Dead Iron.

And since you’ve mentioned that you like steampunk, too….I was in Borders today and found “The Steampunk Bible” by Jeff Vandermeer, which is just about the coolest illustrated book of steampunk machines, clothes, art, books & more EVER. Anyone who likes steampunk should definitely check it out.
